The idea of this series came to me this week when I was catching up on my favourite blogs, and realised that one of my favourite aspects of blogging is what I call the human factor.
To me the human factor comes into play when, you read a post and you can feel that the blogger writing it is so much more than a blogger or a writer, you can feel that they are human, you read their thoughts, experiences and emotions.
When reading their post you begin to loose sight of the fact that hundreds and maybe millions of other people will read exactly the same words, you forget that you’re visiting a website that the entire free world has access too. You become so wrapped up in the content that you feel as though you’re sitting down over a glass of wine, chatting with a dear friend, and catching up on their week and what’s new in their life.
If you’ve ever read a post by Heather B. Armstrong, Ree Drummond, Kelly Diels, Desiree Fawn, or Josh Hanagarne then you know exactly what I’m talking about. The candid and frank nature of the bloggers I just mentioned has moved me to bring more of The Human Factor to my own blog.
What’s more human, candid or frank than falling in love? And seeing that this blog is called Confessions of a Loving Wife, a series recounting how this wife fell in love seems like a perfect fit.
Our Love Story will highlight:
- How with a few clicks of the mouse and many keystrokes I fell madly in love
- How I unknowingly ruined my husband’s marriage proposal
- How we planned and then re-planned our wedding in less than 3 months
- How I went from Miss Shannon to Mrs Shannon O in less than 10 months
- And where we are now…
So sit down pour a glass of wine, a cup of tea or whatever meets your fancy and get ready to become a spectator to our story of falling and staying in love.

There are definitely writers who have that ability to write in a way that makes them connect with their readers. It’s a skill I hope to develop.
